Commercial Growth & Marketing

We plan, build and run customer acquisition on figures your order book agrees with, and change course when the order book disagrees.

Commercial growth and marketing at THEFOCUS covers how a business wins and keeps customers: commercial strategy, paid search and social advertising, product feeds, storefront conversion, lead capture, lifecycle email and the marketing technology behind them. Each part is planned and judged on the orders, leads and margin the business itself records, with platform-reported figures reconciled before they inform a budget.

Business challenges

  1. 01

Ad platform revenue that does not reconcile with orders

The social platform reports a healthy return while store data says otherwise. Budget follows the platform's figure, and nobody can tell which audiences make money and which lose it.

  2. 02

Selling like a showroom, advertising like an online shop

High-ticket products sell after a call, a consultation or a showroom visit, yet campaigns optimise for online purchases that rarely happen, and calls and messages are counted with no value at all.

  3. 03

Traffic from markets you cannot sell to

Search visibility and checkout visits come from countries the store does not ship to. Those checkouts fail, while the home market receives a fraction of the attention.

  4. 04

    Spend and automation nobody approved

A connected app or platform automation creates campaigns, rewrites ad copy or targets an audience that was deliberately excluded, and the spend sits outside the account structure everyone reviews.

  5. 05

    Enquiries lost before they arrive

A quote form hidden inside a pop-up, a lead form without phone verification or an enquiry inbox nobody watches loses customers whom the ad account still counts as conversions.

What this covers

Commercial strategy
Which products, markets and customer groups to grow, the offer for each, and the job each channel is expected to do.
Digital marketing and customer acquisition
Paid search, shopping and social campaigns, competitor research from public ad libraries, and lead campaigns with call tracking and verified forms.
Conversion optimisation
Changes to storefront, product pages, checkout and lead flows based on where customers drop out, judged on recorded orders and leads.
E-commerce growth
Catalogue structure, product data and feed quality for shopping channels, shipping and market settings, and marketplace fit.
Marketing technology
Email and SMS platforms, consent management, CRM connections and conversion setup in each advertising platform.
Lifecycle marketing
Welcome, abandoned-cart, post-purchase and win-back flows, with a check that each one is actually sending and a record of the orders it produced.

How we approach it

  1. 01

    Correct the numbers first

We reconcile platform-reported revenue against store orders and recompute cost per acquisition on recorded sales. Decisions about audiences, products and budgets are taken on the corrected figures.

  2. 02

Match the structure to how customers buy

Online-checkout businesses are run on purchase value. Showroom and consultation businesses are run on calls, verified forms and messages, with separate tracking numbers for each ad platform.

  3. 03

Build for review before any spend

Campaigns are built paused with a future start date for your review. Platform automation settings are listed and switched off where you ask, and you decide when campaigns go live.

  4. 04

    Check results on a schedule

Scheduled checks compare account totals with the campaigns being tracked, so unplanned spend shows up, and read results against decision rules agreed at launch instead of reacting to week-to-week noise.

What you keep

  • A channel and campaign plan with budgets, audiences and decision rules
  • Built campaigns, product feeds and lead forms in your own accounts
  • An attribution reconciliation between ad platforms and recorded orders or leads
  • Creative and copy briefs, and a production workbook where creative is in scope
  • Lifecycle email flows with evidence that each one sends

How outcomes are evaluated

  • Cost per recorded order or qualified lead
  • Contribution after advertising cost by product, audience and channel
  • Checkout and lead-flow completion rates by device and market
  • Product feed approvals and disapprovals by reason
  • Lifecycle email sends and the orders they produced, read from store data

Scope boundaries

  • We do not guarantee sales, lead volumes or return on ad spend. Each plan states in advance which measures will decide whether a change worked.
  • Media budgets are paid by the client directly to the advertising platforms.
  • We do not create or publish fabricated reviews, testimonials or endorsements, and we decline requests to do so.

Questions executives ask

Do you run our advertising accounts or advise on them?

We do either. We can audit and recommend under read-only access, or build and manage campaigns in your accounts. Launching, pausing or changing budgets on live campaigns happens only with your approval.

How do you treat the revenue figures ad platforms report?

As one input among several. We reconcile them against the orders or leads your own systems recorded and base budget decisions on the corrected figure. Where the gap is large, we report it before changing anything.

Can you work with our in-house marketing team or agency?

Yes. We can take the measurement, feed and reconciliation work and leave creative or day-to-day management with the existing team, or supply campaign builds for them to run.

How does an engagement start?

With read access to the store, analytics and ad accounts, and a diagnostic that reconciles reported results with recorded ones. The first recommendations tend to concern measurement, because every later budget decision depends on it.

How do FocusADS.ai, LocalBoostHQ and Flowlora relate to this work?

They are our own products. LocalBoostHQ is a live service for local businesses covering websites, Google Business Profile, local SEO and ads. Flowlora is our e-commerce operations and growth practice and is being relaunched. FocusADS.ai is a managed-advertising service in development. The engagements on this page are delivered directly by THEFOCUS.

What happens after the campaigns are live?

Scheduled checks read results against the decision rules agreed at launch and flag any spend outside the agreed structure. You keep every campaign, audience, feed and report in your own accounts.
