Cloud & Infrastructure Modernisation
We move hosting, domains and deployments into accounts the business controls, and test the restore before calling the move complete.
Questions we help answer
- Who owns our domains, DNS and hosting accounts, and what happens if that person or agency leaves?
- Are we paying for servers and services that no longer run anything?
- Have we ever restored from a backup, and how long did it take?
- Why do some customers still see the old version of the site after a release?
- Should our custom applications move to managed hosting?
What we do
Estate and ownership review
Domains, DNS, hosting, email and cloud accounts listed with registrant, billing owner and administrators, and transferred into business ownership where they sit with individuals.
Migration to managed hosting
Sites and applications moved to managed platforms such as Netlify or a major cloud provider, with deployment pipelines and preview environments.
Backup and restore testing
Backup scope checked against what the business would need back, and a timed test restore carried out and written up.
Running cost and configuration review
Idle resources, oversized plans and duplicated services identified from invoices and usage, and caching set so releases reach every visitor.
Email domain authentication
SPF, DKIM and DMARC records configured so mail from your domain is delivered and spoofed mail is rejected.

How we approach it
- 01
Establish ownership first
No migration starts until the business holds administrator access to the domain registrar, DNS and billing for every account involved.
- 02
Change with a rollback
DNS, hosting and deployment changes are made with the previous configuration recorded and a tested route back.
- 03
Test the restore
A backup counts once it has been restored. We time a test restore and record what came back and what did not.
- 04
Version every release
Static assets are fingerprinted or versioned, so a release reaches visitors whose browsers hold the old file in cache.

How an engagement with THEFOCUS starts
A first conversation is about your situation. If there is a fit, we propose a scoped diagnostic with a fixed deliverable before any larger commitment.

A working conversation
Forty-five minutes with the person who would lead the work. We ask about the decision, the systems behind it and the deadline.
02
A scoped diagnostic
Read-only access, a fixed timeframe and a written finding: what the records show, what it costs and what to change first.
03
A plan you can act on
Changes, owners, measures and exclusions in writing. The same team then builds and measures, or hands over cleanly.
- One accountable team
- The people who diagnose also build the systems and measure the result.
- Partners chosen per problem
- Independent specialists join for the parts that need them, under one contract.
- Records before dashboards
- Orders, ledgers and logs are reconciled before any recommendation depends on them.
Questions executives ask
Do you host our systems for us?
No. Hosting is set up in your own accounts with providers you contract directly, so you keep control and the billing relationship. We configure, migrate and document it.
Will a migration take our site offline?
We plan migrations so the old and new environments run in parallel and switch over at DNS level, with the previous configuration kept ready to restore.
