Automotive & Mobility
Automotive decisions are made on figures that come from different systems: registrations planned against a mandate target, stock ageing on a forecourt, warranty claims settled months after the part shipped. The dealer management system, OEM and supplier portals, the stocking plan and the finance ledger each hold part of the answer. We connect those records so margin, stock and claims can be read from one set of numbers. We have not yet published an engagement in this sector.

In the first nine months of 2026, 454,947 new battery electric cars were registered in the UK, 26.2% of registrations, against the 33% share mandated for 2026.

Up to August 2026, battery-electric cars held a 21.7% share of new EU car registrations, up from 15.8% a year earlier.

In many dealer groups and importers, registration mix, manufacturer incentive income and stock funding cost are worked out in separate spreadsheets, so the margin effect of a registration decision is known only after the quarter closes.
Business challenges
01
Registration mix tracked by hand
Where order bank, registrations, pricing and incentive terms sit in different systems, the position against a mix target is rebuilt in a spreadsheet each month. Pricing and stock decisions are then made on last month's figure.
02
Stock that ages unnoticed
A vehicle on a stocking plan costs interest and loses value every day it is unsold. When the DMS age report and the funding statement disagree, those costs run on units nobody is actively working.
03
Incentive and warranty income left unclaimed
Volume bonuses, campaign support and warranty reimbursements are paid only on claims filed with the right evidence by the right date. A missed or rejected claim never appears as a loss in the management accounts, because the income was never booked.
04
Supplier performance argued from different files
Component suppliers track delivery, quality concerns and price changes in OEM portals, the ERP and email. A premium-freight or cost-recovery dispute then turns on whoever kept the better spreadsheet.
Where the opportunity sits
Mix and margin on one weekly view
Joining order bank, registrations, pricing and incentive data gives mix, margin per unit and distance from target each week, early enough to change pricing within the quarter.
Stock age tied to funding cost
Matching DMS stock records to stocking-plan statements shows interest and depreciation per vehicle, and routes units past an agreed age to a named person.
Claims tracked to cash
A register of each incentive and warranty claim, with its evidence, submission date and payment, shows the rejection rate and the value still outstanding.
How we approach it
We start read-only with the systems that hold vehicles, orders and money: usually the dealer management system or ERP, OEM and supplier portal exports, stocking-plan statements and the finance ledger. We follow one vehicle or one component from order to invoice to incentive or warranty claim, and record every point where a figure is re-keyed or adjusted by hand. Findings become a prioritised task list, each item with an owner and an acceptance check. If the client wants us to build, the same team delivers the data connections, reports and automations, documents what each one reads and writes, and leaves them in the client's own accounts. Vehicle engineering, type approval, functional safety, emissions testing and advice on regulatory compliance are outside our scope.
How our experience is evidenced
No anonymised engagement in automotive or mobility is published. This page describes our approach and the capabilities we would apply: data integration, management reporting, commercial analysis and process automation, as we use them in other sectors.
Questions executives ask
Have you worked with vehicle makers, suppliers or dealer groups?
We have not published an anonymised engagement in automotive or mobility. A proposal would state which parts of the work we have done in other sectors and which would be new.
Can you tell us whether we meet the ZEV mandate?
No. Compliance positions and any submissions belong to your regulatory and legal teams. We can build reporting that shows registrations, mix and credit positions from your own data, with each calculation documented so your specialists can check it.
Do you work on vehicle software or connected-car platforms?
Not on in-vehicle software, safety systems or type approval. Our work covers the commercial, financial and operational data around the vehicle: orders, stock, pricing, incentives, warranty and fleet records.
Which systems do you need to see first?
Read-only access to the dealer management system or ERP, the stocking-plan or fleet-funding statements and the finance ledger is usually enough to trace one vehicle end to end. Wider access is agreed once the first findings are written up.
