Context
An online shop selling Mediterranean specialty foods for home delivery within one Gulf country, run on a hosted e-commerce platform.
The challenge
Most of the store's search visibility came from countries it could not ship to, ownership of the product feed was unclear, and customers were blocked at ordering.
Our approach
We first set up read-only access across the analytics, search, advertising and merchant platforms, mapping the permission level each one needed. The audit corrected the brief's own framing, since the store is a specialty shop rather than a general grocer, and traced the search mismatch to blog content ranking abroad. A second deep audit added a theme workstream and an AI-search workstream.
What we implemented
For the ordering complaint we found a theme style rule hiding the address form, and stock committed to a backlog of unfulfilled orders. With the client's approval we restocked, corrected delivery zones and tested the payment gateway.
Outcome
The address-form defect and the stock-commitment cause were identified and the immediate fixes were made with the client's approval. The longer program has not run long enough to measure.
Highlights
- Ordering failure traced to a theme rule hiding the address form
- Stock committed to unfulfilled orders identified as a second cause, with restocking done on the client's approval
- Search visibility mismatch traced to content ranking in countries the shop cannot deliver to
