Finance Transformation & Systems
Finance hours disappear between systems, in re-keyed payouts and receipts matched by hand. We automate those steps inside the tools they already use.
Questions we help answer
- Why does the month-end close take so long, and which steps could run automatically?
- Is our chart of accounts set up to answer the questions leadership asks?
- How should store payouts, marketplace fees and refunds reach the ledger?
- Are our bank feeds, multicurrency settings and historical data complete?
- Should we change accounting system, or set up the current one properly?
What we do
Accounting system configuration
QuickBooks Online and similar systems set up with bank feeds, multicurrency, tax codes agreed with the accountant, and import routines for historical data.
Chart of accounts design
Accounts and tracking categories structured so management reports by product, channel or entity come straight from the ledger.
Order-to-ledger matching
Payouts, fees, refunds and chargebacks from commerce and payment platforms matched to orders and posted under agreed rules.
Invoicing and receivables workflow
Invoice, credit note and payment matching set up so balances with each customer and supplier can be shown at any date.
Historical data completion
Missing transactions and periods imported and checked against bank statements, with balancing entries examined before anything is accepted.

How we approach it
- 01
Check completeness against the bank
Historical data is tested against bank statements line by line. A total that matches because of a balancing entry is treated as a gap until proved otherwise.
- 02
Agree rules with the accountant
Tax codes, matching rules and chart of accounts changes are agreed with the client's accountant before configuration.
- 03
Configure, then document
Every rule and import routine is written down so the finance team can maintain it and the accountant can review it.

How an engagement with THEFOCUS starts
A first conversation is about your situation. If there is a fit, we propose a scoped diagnostic with a fixed deliverable before any larger commitment.
Discuss this with us01
A working conversation
Forty-five minutes with the person who would lead the work. We ask about the decision, the systems behind it and the deadline.
02
A scoped diagnostic
Read-only access, a fixed timeframe and a written finding: what the records show, what it costs and what to change first.
03
A plan you can act on
Changes, owners, measures and exclusions in writing. The same team then builds and measures, or hands over cleanly.
- One accountable team
- The people who diagnose also build the systems and measure the result.
- Partners chosen per problem
- Independent specialists join for the parts that need them, under one contract.
- Records before dashboards
- Orders, ledgers and logs are reconciled before any recommendation depends on them.
Questions executives ask
Will you post entries in our accounting system?
Only those you approve in writing and your accountant agrees, such as adjusting entries identified during a completeness check. Routine bookkeeping and statutory work stay with your finance team and accountant.
Which accounting systems do you work with?
Recent work has used QuickBooks Online with Wise and commerce platform integrations. Other systems are assessed on the same terms, with a specialist partner where a particular ERP calls for one.
