AI Adoption & Operating Model
We set up the owners, the route from idea to production and the training that turn purchased AI tools into changed daily work.
Questions we help answer
- We pay for AI licences. Why do so few people use them, and for what?
- Who should approve a new AI use, and who owns it once it is live?
- Do we need a central AI team, or should each function own its uses?
- Which processes, handoffs and job descriptions change when a task is automated?
- How do we train managers to judge whether AI-assisted work is correct?
What we do
Adoption review
Licence and usage data read alongside interviews, showing who uses which tools for which tasks and where use stops.
Operating model
Named owners, an intake route for new ideas, an approval step, and a product owner for each live feature, with the split between a central team and the functions decided.
Process redesign
Procedures, handoffs and approval steps rewritten around the tool, so the time saved on a task is not spent re-checking it elsewhere.
Role-based training
Sessions built on each team's own tasks and examples, including prompt libraries and checklists for judging output, delivered with specialist partners where needed.

How we approach it
- 01
Measure use before training
We establish who uses what today, so training targets the gaps and the effect can be read afterwards.
- 02
Redesign the work
The process is rewritten with the tool in it, and the change is agreed with the managers who run it.
- 03
Train on real tasks
People practise on their own documents and cases, and leave with a checklist they use the next day.
- 04
Review each quarter
Use, owners and task outcomes are reviewed quarterly, and tools that are not earning their licence are cancelled.

How an engagement with THEFOCUS starts
A first conversation is about your situation. If there is a fit, we propose a scoped diagnostic with a fixed deliverable before any larger commitment.

A working conversation
Forty-five minutes with the person who would lead the work. We ask about the decision, the systems behind it and the deadline.
02
A scoped diagnostic
Read-only access, a fixed timeframe and a written finding: what the records show, what it costs and what to change first.
03
A plan you can act on
Changes, owners, measures and exclusions in writing. The same team then builds and measures, or hands over cleanly.
- One accountable team
- The people who diagnose also build the systems and measure the result.
- Partners chosen per problem
- Independent specialists join for the parts that need them, under one contract.
- Records before dashboards
- Orders, ledgers and logs are reconciled before any recommendation depends on them.
Questions executives ask
Do you deliver AI training on its own?
We can, though training works better tied to a redesigned process and named owners. Without them, the old way of working usually returns once the session is over.
Should we hire a head of AI?
That depends on how many live uses you have and how many functions they span. The operating model sets out the role, its decision rights and whether a part-time owner or a partner covers it at your current scale.
