Life Sciences
A life-sciences company makes its commercial decisions from data it only partly controls: sales data bought from vendors, activity logged by field teams in the CRM, account plans in spreadsheets and promotional material held in an approval system. We connect those sources, build the reporting and commercial tools on them, and design marketing workflows that respect the codes governing promotion. THEFOCUS does not prepare regulatory submissions or perform GxP validation.

Business challenges
01
Account data that does not reconcile
Sales data from wholesalers or data vendors, CRM call records and the finance ledger use different customer and product codes. Territory performance and incentive pay then depend on manual mappings that few people can check.
02
Launch forecasts nobody revisits
A launch forecast is built in a spreadsheet before the product reaches the market and is rarely updated once real uptake data arrives, so first-year resourcing rests on assumptions the market has already contradicted.
03
Live material out of step with its approval
Promotional material passes medical, legal and regulatory review in an approval system, while the version on a website, in an email or in a campaign is managed somewhere else. Expired or superseded versions stay in use because nobody can match the two.
04
Disclosure data assembled by hand
Fees, sponsorship and expenses paid to health professionals and organizations must be disclosed under the industry codes. When meetings, contracts and expenses are recorded in different systems, the annual disclosure is rebuilt from exports.
Where the opportunity sits
One customer and product master
A maintained mapping between vendor, CRM and finance codes gives territory, account and product performance from one set of definitions, with every manual override logged.
Forecasts that update with uptake
A launch model that reads actual uptake each month, and records which assumption each update replaced, shows where the plan has drifted and by how much.
Approval status linked to every live asset
Linking each live web page, email and campaign asset to its approval record, expiry date and audience gate lets the team withdraw material on time and show what was in use on any date.
Transfers of value captured at source
Recording each payment or benefit when it happens, against the recipient's record, turns the annual disclosure into a checked export.
How we approach it
We start with the commercial data flows: CRM, sales and market data feeds, the finance ledger, the promotional approval system and the digital channels. Access is read-only until the findings are agreed, and personal data about health professionals is handled under data-protection terms agreed in advance. We trace how a sales figure becomes a territory report and how a piece of promotional material moves from approval to use, then turn the findings into a prioritized list of data, reporting and workflow tasks. If the client wants us to build, we deliver data pipelines, reporting and workflow tools in its own environment, documented and checked against acceptance tests agreed in advance. Medical, regulatory and compliance sign-off stays with the client's qualified staff and signatories. We do not prepare regulatory submissions, perform GxP or computerised-system validation, or give medical, clinical or legal advice, and systems within GxP scope are outside our work.
How our experience is evidenced
No anonymised engagement in life sciences is published. This page describes our approach and capabilities in commercial data, reporting, workflow automation and governance technology. THEFOCUS does not provide regulatory submission, GxP validation, medical, clinical or legal services.
Questions executives ask
Do you prepare regulatory submissions or validate GxP systems?
No. Regulatory submissions, GxP and computerised-system validation, pharmacovigilance and quality systems stay with qualified specializts. Our work covers commercial data, reporting, workflow tools and the governance around them, outside GxP scope.
Can you run marketing for prescription medicines?
We build the workflows, measurement and channel controls that marketing teams use, such as gating content meant for health professionals and linking live assets to their approval records. Content approval and code compliance remain with your signatories, and we do not promote prescription-only medicines to the public.
Have you worked with life-sciences companies?
We have not published an anonymised engagement in this sector. Any proposal would state which parts of the work we have done in other sectors and which would be new.
Where would our data be held?
In your own environment or in accounts you control. Access levels, data-protection terms and retention are agreed before work starts, and any data bought from third-party vendors is used only as its license allows.
