Strategic Workforce Planning
Most workforce plans start from last year's headcount. We start from the demand the business expects: bookings, orders, projects and seasons.
Questions we help answer
- How many people do we need next season, and in which roles?
- Which skills will we need in two years that we do not have now?
- Where are we overstaffed in quiet periods and short in peaks?
- What will automation or AI change in our staffing needs?
- Should we build, hire, contract or automate each capability?
What we do
Demand-driven staffing models
Models linking bookings, orders, footfall or project pipelines to staffing by role, site and period.
Skills supply and gap analysis
Current skills set against future needs by role family, with options to close each gap.
Scenario plans
Staffing and cost under growth, contraction, new-site and automation scenarios, built with finance.
Rota and scheduling inputs
Demand forecasts prepared in a form rota and scheduling tools can import.
Automation impact review
Which tasks automation or AI can take on, and what that means for each role and its numbers.

How we approach it
- 01
Connect demand to work
We link booking, property management, POS, order and project data to the work each role performs.
- 02
Measure productivity drivers
Time and volume per task come from timesheets, rotas and transaction records, not from assumptions.
- 03
Model the scenarios
Staffing needs are modeled under the scenarios leadership wants to test, with costs shown for each.
- 04
Review with finance each quarter
The plan is compared with actual demand and staffing, and the forecasts are updated.

How an engagement with THEFOCUS starts
A first conversation is about your situation. If there is a fit, we propose a scoped diagnostic with a fixed deliverable before any larger commitment.
Discuss this with us01
A working conversation
Forty-five minutes with the person who would lead the work. We ask about the decision, the systems behind it and the deadline.
02
A scoped diagnostic
Read-only access, a fixed timeframe and a written finding: what the records show, what it costs and what to change first.
03
A plan you can act on
Changes, owners, measures and exclusions in writing. The same team then builds and measures, or hands over cleanly.
- One accountable team
- The people who diagnose also build the systems and measure the result.
- Partners chosen per problem
- Independent specializts join for the parts that need them, under one contract.
- Records before dashboards
- Orders, ledgers and logs are reconciled before any recommendation depends on them.
Questions executives ask
Do you recruit the people the plan needs?
No. We do not run recruitment or executive search. The plan tells your HR team or recruitment partners how many people, with which skills, and when.
Can the plan connect to our rota system?
Usually. We prepare demand forecasts in the format your rota or scheduling tool imports, or set up a regular export from your booking, order or POS data.
